I was looking up information on training for survivors of human trafficking and came across an Irish NGO called Ruhama. They provide an outreach service, an in-depth casework service and a range of development programmes which help women exit prostitution, in addition to advocacy and awareness raising.
I highly recommend watching the video clip of an interview with one of the survivors who has been helped by Ruhama.
Having looked at their website, there are probably lessons learned which could be transferred to NGO’s in Japan and other parts of Asia. I’m going to contact them to see if I can get some information for benchmarking on services provided to survivors of trafficking.
