Back in the early 1990’s, one of my teachers told our class about a school trip she’d once led to Paris. One day, one of the girls in her group went missing our teacher told us that she was genuinely concerned that the girl may have been kidnapped and sold into slavery. Everyone in my class laughed out loud when they heard the story because, of course, slavery was a thing of the past.

I’ve learned a bit more about human trafficking since that classroom back in Dublin, but I’m still caught completely by surprise by new information I come across. At least, it’s new to me. This blog is a journal of my quest to learn more about human trafficking, what’s being done to combat it and what isn’t being done.

  1. Thank you for your work here in your blog, in helping to educate and enlighten others who still think trafficking does not happen in this day and age, keep up the good work

I think you may be interested in the debut novel ‘A Walk Across the Sun’ by Corban Addison. It comes out in January (in the U.S.) and is about the global sex trade/human trafficking. It has been endorsed by John Grisham. Website and Trailer below.
